Overwatch 2 Development Moving “Really Slow” - Report

4.8
Even when Blizzard first announced Overwatch 2 back in 2019, they said right off the bat that they had no idea when the game would launch, and the general consensus has been that the game isn’t going to release any time soon. There haven’t been a lot of updates on the shooter in the last year or so, and potential new information suggests that development might not be progressing very smoothly.

In one of his recent streams, Metro – who has had a solid track record with Overwatch-related leaks – said that Overwatch 2’s development is moving “really slow”. He states that Blizzard are planning on delaying the game internally, and that it’s still a long ways off.

Recently, Blizzard’s Jeff Kaplan said that Overwatch 2 was still a long ways off, so Metro’s comments certainly do fall in line with what’s been officially said. This isn’t officially confirmed, of course, so take this with a grain of salt, but fans of the series will no doubt be disappointed, especially considering the fact that updates for the first game have been far more infrequent in recent years.

Overwatch 2 is confirmed for launch on PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC. Considering its release timeframe, its more than likely that it’ll end up launching for PS5 and Xbox Series X/S as well.

Anime Since covid hit to that probably hasn't helped.

That, And they realize that they are raking in money for a game that doesn't need much updating. New map prior was about a year ago?
