xk3y 'Unlocks' Your 360!

4.4
Hey guys, Rickshaw here, I am pleased to announce that our friends over at xk3y have sent us over a brand new xk3y which is allowing me to introduce it to you guys, right here, right now! Some of you guys may have already seen this, heck some of you guys might already own this! Basically the xk3y is a ODD emulator which allows you to play backups of your own games off a USB stick! Right out of the box I knew this thing was going to be one of the best ways to play backups on the Xbox 360. It was boxed with care, amazingly compact, extremely user-friendly, and was setup in no more than 10 minutes!

With all the random products that are released its hard to know what is a good product and what is a complete waste of money. The way the xk3y team takes pride in their work reassures me into fully believing that this is going to get continued support and the dedication something that is always changing needs. Once I got the product home I very quickly noticed that they had an 'Authorize your xk3y' button on their site. In able to gain access to their forums for support and updates you must verify you have purchased an authentic xk3y.

They have a full team dedicated to helping others aswell, which is a huge bonus in my eyes. Even though this is plug and play hardware it still can get frustrating at times.

How it works:
The xk3y works by bridging in between your 360 motherboard and your ODD, it then splits off to where it can accept a HDD or a SSD and emulates the drive.

    Requirements:

  • You will need your DVD Key which can be easily grabbed.

  • You will need an Authentic xk3y product.

  • You will need a MicroSD USB/Card Reader.

  • You will need a Computer.

My final verdict on this xk3y is going to be that it is an amazing product. When I first seen it I figured it was just going to be an alternative to people who cannot flash their drive to play backups of their own games, but once I got one of my own I realized I was very, very wrong. This is a must, not an alternative.

It has an extremely clean case, they put a lot of time into constant development and updates, and you can tell by the product itself that they are genuinely proud of their product. This is well worth $130.00 in my eyes.

Below you will find some pictures from the assembly and unboxing of the product, aswell as a picture from the completed product and a link to purchase your own xk3y!

I just have one question: Is it illegal? And if it is can you ever be caught?

Will it work on any dash? I have an xbox that is not able to connect to live and has the 2009 dash(idk dash #'s).

Also does it require this extra stuff?

Very cool rickshaw - I'll have to order one. It would've been good if it was an all-in-one kit, but the Lizard 360 isn't too expensive so all good. Awesome find!

Ok here's the thing, my buddy just got his Friday without telling me till now. So I went over to his place to check it out. He has a slim which the kind of console doesn't matter, but ya back to the point! This thing is pretty **** badass! He attached his 1TB External HDD to the remote and ran a couple games, I was pretty impressed!! Now he said he will be returning some games tomorrow, but keeping a select few that he feels that if something were to happen to his xKey that he'll have games to play! He owns an original Xbox as well which is flashed so that he can burn games onto it and he takes those files and puts them onto his 1TB HDD and they work as he has a disk in his drive. So far he has 24 games on the HDD and he'll be adding more tomorrow, he's thinking of starting a gamefly account so that way he can rent 3 games at once burn them, return them, and rent some more so that way he doesn't have to hassle with the download times and other crap and so that he can get what he wants almost immediately! And the thing with gamefly is that once your rent a game you pretty much get it the next day and when you return it, you get another game in your cue pretty much the next day after, so he's expecting to be able to burn 30+ games in one month for $30 on gamefly, so all in all this thing is BADASS!!!

xENTERxSHIKARIx i was considering getting one but you have to run your games off a memory stick/card so its easier to just have therm on disc rather then transferring games on and off all the time, which would be a pin if your pc broke lol.

They look good but i will stick with my c4eva and just burn discs

Or a 2TB hdd... like 350 games :P
