Rumor: Ubisoft Plus Games Coming to Xbox Game Pass

4.1
While it may not get as much attention as some other gaming subscription services, Ubisoft+ offers quite a bit of value. It's similar in practice to EA Play, with players able to get access to a bunch of Ubisoft games and other bonuses for a relatively low price. Now new rumors suggest that, like EA did with EA Play, Ubisoft may be bringing its Ubisoft+ service to Xbox Game Pass, which, if true, would be yet another massive boost for Microsoft's service.

This rumor was reported on by PureXbox and seemingly originated from the site Xbox Worlds. With no evidence to back up these claims, fans should take this information with a massive grain of salt. Nothing official has been announced and it's possible that this rumor has been completely fabricated. That being said, it would make sense for this to happen eventually, as Xbox has been aggressive about adding more services to the Xbox Game Pass package.

Microsoft's main strategy moving into the next-generation revolves entirely around the Game Pass service. It has worked to make Xbox Game Pass a must-have for all Xbox console owners, as it gives subscribers instant access to over 100 games, not to mention day 1 access to brand new first-party Xbox games. But in order to keep people subscribed to Xbox Game Pass, Xbox has to keep sweetening the pot, and getting a bunch of Ubisoft games added at once would go a long way in accomplishing that goal.

That's exactly what Xbox did with EA Play, folding EA's subscription service into Xbox Game Pass last month. Now Xbox owners only have to have one subscription service to access not just every game available through Game Pass, but the bulk of EA's library of games as well. This includes everything from big sports titles to plenty of Star Wars games, as well as EA games from the original Xbox and Xbox 360 as well.

One has to imagine that if Microsoft did ink a deal with Ubisoft for something similar, it would include the bulk of what's included in Ubisoft+ right now. That would mean instant access to a ton of highly-rated Ubisoft games, and would give Xbox Game Pass yet another massive spike in value.

Then again, it's entirely possible that Microsoft is content with Xbox Game Pass' current offerings, and is only looking to add its own games to the service to up the value instead. 2021 will see some significant Microsoft additions to Xbox Game Pass, headlined by Halo Infinite, so it should definitely be a big year for the subscription service regardless of whether or not there's any truth to these Ubisoft rumors.

I really hope they release Ubisoft plus with the game pass.
It will make the game pass much better and give us a more variety of games to play.
