Stardew Valley's 1.5 Update Could Be Ready For Consoles In January

4.3
Just last week, the massive 1.5 patch for indie hit sensation Stardew Valley released on PC. Bringing a plethora of new content, additions, quality of life tweaks, and charm, some people are wondering where the update is for console platforms. While developer Concerned Ape has never simultaneously released updates for the PC and console ports, it would be nice to know what is going on here.

Well, thankfully, we have an answer. Tentatively speaking, the 1.5 patch should be arriving on console platforms next month. If it doesn't quite make January, it will be early 2021. If you're one of the players that enjoy the game on mobile, there is currently no slated release date for that version.

It's pretty speculator how many free updates Stardew Valley has received over the years. It feels like an eternity since I first learned of the game, though that's likely because of how agonizingly long 2020 has been. For fans, they can't get enough of the little additions and changes their spiritual successor to Harvest Moon has received.

With the 1.5 patch on consoles, players will be able to explore beach areas, partake of split-screen co-op, visit a resort, and tango with a few new foes. It's practically a sequel with regards to how much has been added. It would be interesting to see mods make their way to console, but that's probably asking for a bit too much. It's not like there is a lack of content or anything.
