MS Rumoured to Announce Next-gen Xbox at CES in January

Microsoft is preparing to make the first official announcements for its next-gen Xbox console at the CES expo in January.

According to French site Xboxygen, the platform holder won't make any significant announcements related to software or features, but will speak of the hardware and its specs.
Citing an anonymous source close to Microsoft, it says MS has two groups working on the console; a group called 'Infinity' working on the hardware, and another called 'Loop' in charge of software development.

It goes on to state the machine will contain a hex-core (six-core) CPU at its heart, strapped to an AMD graphics card and 2GB of DDR3 RAM.

CES takes place in Las Vegas in January.

Rumours surrounding Microsoft's next console have been rampant of late, with the latest reports claiming it will be slimmer and cheaper than the current console.

KSIxSP33D Oh god here we go retarded kids who dont know about console/PC specs also why do you need more than 2gigs of ram maybe 3would be ok but 4 or more is just waste.. also hex core this is awesome now the xbox is going to be 6x4GHz and before it was 3x3Ghz its pretty big jump not to mention AMD graphics card which tend to work well for long time specially with the power of 6990 and the later on modifications
How is 4Gb a waste that is the recommended spec for Windows 7 Also an AMD CPU which Is on the cheaper side of things than intel does make sense because people don't want the xbox to be about 400 Pounds also if they put an 6990 In an xbox it would be absolutely huge not to mention the price of a single 6990

You can put 4GB of RAM in an Xbox but it simply will NOT be used. PC's and consoles are two very different things and cannot be that easily compared.
Do some research first before you say stuff like that. Just saying.

But you do have to put into mind the fact that it won't be running an OS in the background like our PCs. Since it's doing less than a PC it uses less RAM. But still, I think 2 gigs is too little. 4 seems about right.
