That’s according to the sci-fi shooter series’ official Twitter account, which announced that the game will be launching on PC for the first time as part of The Master Chief Collection on November 17.

The description for a trailer for the game on YouTube describes this release as optimised for PC. Apparently Halo 4’s campaign as been “fully remastered,” too.

Halo: The Master Chief Collection was released for Xbox One in November 2014 and featured the first four entries in the franchise. The compilation made its PC debut in December 2019, but only 2009’s Halo: Reach was playable on launch. Despite only one title being available, the game managed to attract a peak of over 161,000 concurrent players over on Steam.

Microsoft has been adding the other entries in the series over the course of 2020. The first Halo title was released in March, before 2: Anniversary and Halo 3 launched in May and July respectively. ODST followed in September.

For The Master Chief Collection, developer 343 Industries is trying to update the Halo games where possible, but has taken an “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it” approach.

The next entry in the franchise is Halo Infinite, a title that seems to have run into trouble in development. Several of the game’s leads have departed the project in the last two years and the game was recently delayed until 2021 following a showcase that disappointed fans. Microsoft has reportedly considered shipping Halo Infinite’s campaign and multiplayer components separately.
