Assassin’s Creed Valhalla Runs at Upscaled 4K on PS5

4.7
Last month, Ubisoft stated that Assassin’s Creed Valhalla would run in 4K/60 FPS on the PS5. This seemed a given since the Xbox Series X version was confirmed to run at the same settings. Ubisoft reiterated the same in a recent blog post which detailed the next-gen performance for a number of its titles.

However, a PR representative for the company has since told DualShockers that the PS5 version runs at upscaled 4K. “I can confirm that Assassin’s Creed Valhalla runs at 4K at 60 fps on PS5 (upscaled 4K).” It’s unknown whether this applies to the Xbox Series X version as well. But the blog post for both still states 4K resolution at 60 frames per second with no mention of any upscaling. We’ll need to wait for more details on this or at least more extensive testing to know for sure.

Assassin’s Creed Valhalla is out on November 10th for Xbox Series X/S while the PS5 version releases on November 12th. Current-gen versions will launch on November 10th as well.

Oof ps5 having to upscale already. I hope it's just lack of time making it work on the new console.

kinda figured most games are still just upscaled because 4k is a very fps impacting resolution with ray tracing, so it doesnt surprise me at all kinda waiting to see the xbox one series x upscale be like, honestly upscale is much better then native since its less impactful on the frame rate imo, so i kinda understand why but they shouldnt upscale but instead native 4k at locked 30 1440p/1080p unlock fps

upscale is kinda lame but still better for performance imo
