MW3 PC Requirements Surface – PC Version is Just a Console Port

4.8
Modern Warfare 2 on PC was in my humble opinion a heap of crap.

Sure it was fun to play and admittedly enjoyable at times, but the console-esque matchmaking and peer-to-peer server hosting reeked of console emphasis, ultimately leaving a well deserved sour taste in the mouths of PC gamers the world over.

Well thankfully in the latest game, Infinity Ward and Sledgehammer games said from the beginning of development that they were aiming to listen to the PC crowd on a number of issues including dedicated servers, Steamworks support, and even LAN support. Today the minimum system requirements for the game were made available and they’re definitely ported straight from a console.

A minimum GPU of 256MB? What’s Windows XP? Definitely not the sort of stuff we’re seeing elsewhere…

You can check the system requirements out below.

MINIMUM SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS:

OS: Windows XP / Windows Vista / Windows 7
Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo E6600 or AMD Phenom X38750 processor or better
Memory: 16 GB free hard drive space / 2GB RAM
Video Card: Shader 3.0 or better 256 MB NVIDIA®GeForce 8600GT / ATI Radeon X1950 or better
Sound Card: DirectX 9.0C or later

Hey idiot, ever hear of optimization? Apparently not.

optimization is definitely their goal here, I think they are making it so people with all types of computers can play since we know most pc games cant be run by a $300 pc but when they are console it's a $300 piece of hardware, they are trying to make it so people with either can play but people with higher end PCs can still crank it up

Exactly. People assume that low requirements mean shitty games. While it actually means they have an efficient engine.

However, in my opinion Battlefield is a PC game and Call of Duty a console game.

I can honestly say without any doubts that No PC gamers are even thinking of buying this for PC.

I'll hint at what they are buying, BF3.

They only do this so more people can play the game hence they make more money
