Xbox Series X Release Date and Price Revealed by Microsoft

4.2
After a long wait, Microsoft has officially confirmed when the Xbox Series X is arriving, and the final price for the next-gen system.

While Sony and Microsoft have been playing a game of chicken for the past few months regarding when we’ll expect their next-gen systems to release and what their price would be, it seems like the game has finally ended. Given that both systems were bound to debut in November, it was only a matter of time before one of the two console makers budged to reveal the date and price for their system, and Microsoft is the one to have made the first move with the Xbox Series X.

Microsoft has finally let the console out of the bag and announced that the Xbox Series X will officially launch on November 10, 2020. Coming alongside the recently-confirmed Xbox Series S–a smaller, cheaper next-gen console at $299–the Series X will retail for $499 and will feature a financing option to pay for the system at $35/month for up to 24 months. Additionally, Microsoft has confirmed that pre-orders for the system will begin on September 22, 2020.

After this week’s leaks on the Xbox Series S, we now have a full picture for Microsoft’s plans to release its next-gen systems, and for the most part, the prices and release date are pretty close to what rumors and speculation have indicated for the Series X. The Series S, however, offers an interesting twist as a system with less powerful hardware specifications, but at a much cheaper price point. By comparison, we know that Sony is planning to offer two versions of the PS5–one with and without a disc drive–so it remains to be seen what the price different between both systems will be.

The Series X is officially launching on November 10, 2020 for $499.

Mario350 i wasnt right i wasnt wrong but i did told yall its not gonna cost 800$/1k$ cad which would been stupid, never believe rumor prices from unverified people, the s version is just a xbox one s since it cant even do 4k only does 1080p and has only 500gig hard drive according to austin evens if i recall

series x is a better choice but sadly the ps5 is gonna be 400$ if we go by how sony did it in 2013 with the ps4

I SINCERELY doubt the PS5 will be $400. If I had to guess, if anything, they'll price match Microsoft.

What people don't realize is the MAIN REASON Xbox is far less popular on current gen is PRICING. Microsoft made sure to NOT make that mistake again and Sony will not make that mistake this time. If Sony comes in at the same price they can hold almost all of their players from current gen. If they go lower, they're just loosing more money unecessarily.

Basic economics people. Read up.

Lmao, what? Sony would need a miracle to beat $499. Realistically anything less than what Xbox is priced at, sony taking big loss per console.

The series S as well does up to 1440p 120fps, not just 1080p...

I'm gonna be getting myself both, Series S for the living room and the Series X for my bedroom

I'm glad they are both so cheap for the power that you are going to get

I wonder if Sony will match that price or try to undercut xbox
