DICE has 'a massive Battlefield 3 DLC plan'

DICE has hinted at an ambitious year-round DLC plan for Battlefield 3.

Asked if the company intends to offer the same level of ongoing support for Battlefield 3 players as rival series Call of Duty does, creative director Lars Gustavsson told MCV the developer has "completely restructured" the studio around its plans for add-on content for the upcoming FPS.

"Nowadays, we have operations team who looks at the title when it starts getting closer to launch (or long before) with potential downloadable content and so on, to really have a plan," he said.

"Otherwise you're quite likely to start slipping. If you're focusing just before release on what you're going to ship post-launch, then I think you have problems.

"So, yes there is a massive plan in place."

Battlefield 3 producer Patrick Liu said earlier this week he thinks EA's franchise has the edge on Call of Duty, although he admitted he's just pleased his game's being bracketed in the same league as the current FPS genre king.

Yesterday EA released a new Battlefield 3 trailer focusing on the shooter's destruction gameplay.

The thing I've always loved about BF games is the scale, I cant wait to have massive wars with tanks and jets and heaps of teamwork. should be fun

I don't know where he gets CoD being the "King" from, Sales are as useless as K/D.

By the way I'm pretty sure Battlefield was "King" from 1942 until BF2.

Because the developers who represent dice are complete douchebags and have nothing good to say about the competition.

Bowling went and played bf3 and said he loved it, infinity ward not said any derogatory remarks about dice or battlefield.

And I'm not a cod fanboy before you try that cheap **** strike. I have a friend who works awkward hours and he simply does not have the time whenever he's on xbox to be playing a full game of rush so we just have game of cod or gears instead.
I love how you may say this, but the only reason why they pick on them is because there Unrealism in the game's they make. It is this, that they pick on them, I mean COME ON, there is NO such thing as a heart beat monitor. The only way this can work is if you are hooked to a machine that is for medical purposes only to check you E'ffin HEART RATE.
