Halo Infinite gameplay was an early build

3
The Halo Infinite gameplay showcased during yesterday’s Xbox event featured footage from an early build of the game.

The news comes from a YouTube video posted by Alanah Pearce, in which Pearce explains that the build shown during yesterday’s livestream doesn’t represent where Halo Infinite is at right now.

You can check out the video below.

“This is in progress, they did say it’s an early build,” says Pearce in the video.

Meanwhile, a developer from 343 Industries told PCGamesN that, “the game was captured from a PC that is representative of the experience that players will have on Xbox Series X.”

If you haven’t checked out the Halo Infinite clip shown during yesterday’s event yet, here’s our first look at Halo Infinite campaign gameplay. However, it’s probably worth noting that the Halo Infinite trailer uploaded to the official Halo YouTube channel is miles better than what we saw during the Xbox event – it even features a clip of Chief grappling towards an enemy before slicing and dicing them with the beloved Energy Sword.

Also, yeah – the rumoured grappling hook is actually in the game. I’m beginning to think it’s soon going to be more revolutionary to not have a grappling hook in your game. Ever since Miyazaki whacked that grapple into Sekiro we’re seeing grappling hooks all over the shop.

In related news, you can now buy Halo Infinite Monster Energy, because of course you can. Keep your empty can for four months and you’ll get double XP! Who needs a bin when you can shoot up the ranks at double speed.

Meanwhile the Halo TV series is apparently “well into shooting its first season.” If you want to read more on Infinite, be sure to check out our comprehensive breakdown of why Halo 3 is still the game that Infinite needs to surpass.

Anyone with any understanding about game development and engines would know that "upping" the graphics closer to launch isn't how it works.

Yin Personally, I don't see much wrong with the graphics of the game. Sure, it being a new system that is suppose to be the strongest console out there, I get why people wanted more. I just don't personally have much issue with what was shown. As for it being an early build, there is room for it to improve, but I wouldn't hold my breath. It may have some added detail, but I can't image it will be much better than what was shown. I think they focused more on the open world scale and frame rate. Not sure how I feel about the open world, but the gameplay looks enjoyable. I look forward to playing it.

I agree I thought it looked beautiful, so it's just gonna get even better so that is very impressive and exciting!

I'd imagine it doesn't look as polished as it could being a current gen title as well.
