At the Xbox Games Showcase, Moon Studios announced that their metroidvania platformer Ori and the Will of the Wisps, which released earlier this year, will be receiving an Xbox Series X upgrade later on in 2020. The game will run at 4K and 120 FPS on the Xbox Series X with HDR support.

It will, of course, support Smart Deliver, which means if you already have the game on the Xbox One, you get the Xbox Series X version when it launches for free. As a game that already looks spectacular even on an Xbox One S, the prospect of getting to play a better looking version of Will of the Wisps, and one that runs at 120 FPS, is mouth-watering.

Ori and the Will of the Wisps is currently available on Xbox One and PC. In our review of the game, we called it a “metroidvania masterpiece”, praising it for its visuals, platforming, combat, level design, storytelling, and more.
