Video: Watch 8 minutes of Halo Infinite gameplay

Developed by 343 Industries, Infinite is described as a “spiritual reboot” of the first-person shooter series, which launched in 2001, and is planned for release on Xbox Series X, Xbox One and PC during the 2020 holiday season.

The game will be powered by 343’s new Slipspace engine, which was built to give more creative freedom to its development team and open new possibilities within the game itself, according to studio head Bonnie Ross.

In a live stream on Thursday, 343 confirmed that Infinite would feature a world bigger than the last two Halo games combined, and run at 60fps.

“Players can explore an expansive landscape filled with sprawling natural wonder, mystery, and a story that welcomes those new to the franchise as well as continues the Master Chief’s saga for our most dedicated fans,” said Xbox marketing lead Michael Wolf.

“With Xbox Series X and the Slipspace Engine, built to power the future of Halo, Halo Infinite is poised to usher in the next generation of gaming.

“Taking full advantage of the power of the console to deliver unprecedented visual fidelity and silky smooth campaign gameplay at a locked 60 frames per second at up to 4K resolution, the Slipspace Engine will also scale to existing platforms to provide a fantastic experience for players on the Xbox One family of devices as well as Windows 10 and Steam.”

Mythusala Ya the gameplay is great and all. But watching it and seeing some of the small changes they have made to the game is pretty disappointing...

Things like the sound of the guns and the warthog. Also this excuse of a pull up hud map. It just ruins the originality of what halo is and was...

Go play halo 3 if you want the nostalgia..

This is next gen my guy. Embrace changes for what the devs gave us. Most people would cry if they didn't implement these small changes ;)

These people are so ignorant over a campaign trailer.
I'm a day one Halo:CE fan, and I think this level of innovation is perfection! The graphics are phenomenal compared to older Halos.
You know whats disappointing? The complaining coming from so called "fans" when the games are solid.
"Small changes are disappointing' what because their not coddling YOUR own nostalgia?
Newsflash buddy: this felt like the golden Halo 3 days.
Too bad you're creating complaints and not games lol

So much for a reboot, the game feels even further away from the series, pretty bland "mission" aswell to show gameplay on. Sound is better though for sure.

i have always liked how linear halo campaign was and the story telling, the cinematics so this more open world-ish concept kinda reminds me a bit of Halo CE in some missions but i hope it is still as story telling as the original halos were. i dont know how i feel about the grapple...
