Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 coming to Xbox 720, PS4?

Treyarch, the studio behind Call of Duty: Black Ops, is bringing the Call of Duty series to a "new console" according to a job ad on the developer's website.

The hint comes in a call for a senior platform engineer where the studio lays it out pretty plainly:

"Treyarch is seeking a Senior Platform Engineer for a position on the team bringing our hugely successful game to a new console."

Which new console we're talking about exactly is still unclear. It's likely that Treyarch is talking about an announced but as yet unreleased platform like the Vita or the Wii U.

However, there's always the possibility that the Call of Duty studio could be preparing for the next generation.

Rumours have pointed to both Alan Wake 2 and Saints Row 4 already being in development for the Xbox 720.

Thornygull I don't get why people think there doesn't need to be new consoles. The ones we have now are using 2005 technology, its now 2011 almost 2012 people. If microsoft and Sony dont wan't to start loosing developers they might want to make a new console. PC's are so much more advanced already, the consoles are holding back on what they can do because of the lousy hardware of consoles, and for that the PC suffers.

Furrymatt We dont need a new console yet i can see in maybe two more years we would but now we just got to the potential of the 360 and its power im thinking that the game is gonna be on PS Vita or the the new wii but thats just my opinion
