Treyarch bringing Call of duty to a "new console"

Treyarch is working on a version of Call of Duty for "a new console", according to a recent recruitment call.

A job ad on its website calling for a senior software engineer, as reported by GameSpot, states the successful applicant will join "the team bringing our hugely successful game to a new console."

It doesn't give much else away, other than that the role includes adapting "graphics and other major systems in our engine to a new platform".

Treyarch expects candidates to have experience on the PlayStation 3 or Xbox 360.

A Vita, 3DS and/or Wii U port of their next effort all seem like safe bets, but perhaps the studio has already upped tools on the next round of hardware from Microsoft and Sony.

The Black Ops developer hasn't announced details of its next Call of Duty title but, providing it stays true to past form, expect it to launch in November 2012.

Call of Duty on the Wii U might be a pretty sweet thing. Use the Tablet to show ammo, inventory, Killstreak, etc, with the Entire screen commited to gameplay, with a few things on the H.U.D.

It must be a portable device or Wii U because if it was a new xbox or Playstation it would of been announced by now. But you never know.

Maybe apple are going to introduce a console to the gaming industry?

I really do hope so, it'd bring a whole new level of design and quality to the market and would hopefully help Sony and Microsoft begin to push for an upgrade!

As much as I dislike Treyarch's recent products. You cannot develop better than the professionals.

Exactly and i bet you cant develop **** have you taken Physics?Have you taken Calculus?If you answered no then you cant develop **** and i mean without using a program that you just make the game out of i mean true developing.

IDC what everyone says, Treyarch makes very good games. I will admit that WaW was a carbon copy of COD4 just to build off the success, however I would argue that Black Ops is a better game than MW2. Why? Well for starters it actually takes more skill to be good at BO rather than MW2. In MW2 you have easier QS, stopping power, noob tubes, commando perk, OMA, over powered pistols, all guns are godly(all but like, 3), hacking, and over powered kill streaks...oh wait, also you have shottys as secondary's and there over powered, and Machine pistols which are over powered. In BO almost everything is balanced out, and there is more things added to the game like zombies, theater, wager matches, private match community, and custom emblems. Not to mention custom reticules, and balanced guns and maps. Snipers are well balanced (ok, well the L96 gets too many hit marks, but w/e) and the increased game modes make it just a better game all around. BO takes more skill to be good at it compared to MW2.
