Resident Evil Village Will Be Longer Than Resident Evil 7

4.1
Next year, the Resident Evil series will once again go first person with Village. The game was unveiled at Sony’s PS5 reveal event and was then later confirmed to be coming for next generation consoles. Since then, as usual, we’ve been getting lots of leaks and rumors about the game, and the latest bit is a little bit of good, and a little bit of bad, news.

Known insider AestheticGame, also known as Dusk Golem, took to his Twitter to ask some questions about things he allegedly knows about the game. When questioned about the length, he said that it wouldn’t be a particularly long game, but did understand it was aiming to be a little longer than Resident Evil 7, a game this story will be a direct sequel to. Golem had said earlier that there will be a bigger focus on exploration here, so that lines up with previous statements. When it came to release, he said he wasn’t sure, but said it was looking likely the game will not hit the originally intended Q1 2021 and due to development difficulties with COVID, it will most likely fall in the Q2 area now, though he did say there was no pinned down date as of yet. The game’s developers said it was roughly 60% complete at the beginning of this month, so seems like it could go either way.

Of course, these are all rumors as it stands now. While AestheticGamer has generally been reliable about Resident Evil franchise information in the past, his record hasn’t been spotless. Nothing here seems too outrageous either, but always take it with a grain of salt.

Resident Evil Village is set to be released sometime in 2021 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and PC.

RE7 was a good game to play, hope RE8 can follow it up.

Daniel Nothing better than a long ass game where it feels like its taking forever to finish especially when you love the game and your enjoying it and having fun, This is great news.

Great news if they can pull it off like.

Hopefully it doesn't suffer from the problems that Resident Evil 7 had. The first half was superb. Intense but had depth. The second half felt like a race to the finish.
