2K Defends NBA 2K21 Price Increase

3.9
Fans have been a bit surprised to discover that the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X editions of NBA 2K21 will retail for $69.99 in comparison to $59.99 for the current versions. 2K Games has issued a statement to Wccftech, clarifying the reasons behind the price increase. According to the company, the prices are "meant to represent the value being offered." With the game featuring a number of improvements on next-gen hardware, it's somewhat understandable, but fans aren't quite happy to hear about it. Many took to social media to air their grievances with the company, and demand a lower price point to match the current versions of the game.

ifconfig Unfortunately a price rise for all next gen games is something we'll have to get used it.

Not if we protest the price properly, like we should have done with loot boxes. If we hit them where it hurts, they'll keep prices normal. They already profit millions, they don't need to mark up the price for a copy and paste game

I agree with you, but not enough people will protest. People will pay whatever to play.

the price increase is laughable
PC has always kept the games at a value
Now consoles seek to destroy a games copy paste value..
COD FIFA (any sports 2k game) copy pastes

Do most people not remember when new PS2/Xbox games were $49.99?

"meant to represent the value being offered." Yes, let's increase the price for a grind-fest of a game that will be irrelevant in a year, while retaining microtransactions. Hell, maybe they'll up the price on those too to " represent the value being offered."
