Dr Disrespect responds to Twitch ban

3.3
Popular Twitch streamer Dr Disrespect has broken the silence on his permanent ban from the livestreaming platform today in a new Twitter update addressed to his followers.

“Twitch has not notified me on the specific reason behind their decision,” the streamer wrote. “Firm handshakes to all for the support during this difficult time.”

Dr Disrespect was banned from Twitch yesterday afternoon for an unknown reason. The platform issued a statement, saying it will take appropriate action when a streamer has “acted in violation of [its] Community Guidelines or Terms of Service” but failed to specify which section the streamer had violated.

Later in the day, Twitch began issuing refunds for Dr Disrespect’s subscribers, sending emails to users stating the money would appear in their bank statements within three to five business days. Dr Disrespect’s wife posted an Instagram Story thanking the streamer’s fan base, the “Champions Club,” for their support.

The streamer was previously banned in 2019 for bringing his camera crew into a bathroom at E3. The ban lasted for two weeks, and he later returned to streaming after the suspension ended.

Joey I feel like regardless if you like him or not it's wrong to terminate without a reason. That's just my opinion

Regardless if its wrong or not its kind of weird out of the blue, one of the biggest names of twitch gets permanently banned and all they gotta say is "yeah you broke some rules, we won't tell you which ones, but you did"

I would imagine they did tell him why. I mean did you see the video of the end of his stream? His whole entire mood just switched fast. The whole "trying to divert conversation" and watching a random roblox video without trashing it was so out of his persona it was scary.

I mean what would you do if you got an email/text from your boss telling you that you were fired? Especially WHILE you were doing your job. Nobody is gonna go through those moments without a drastic change in mood. I think people are reading into it way too much.

Doc said Twitch hasn't told him a reason. Twitch's TOS clearly say they don't have to tell you a reason for being banned. Regardless, until some official statement comes out saying otherwise, there isn't really a more rational approach than taking his word for it. Everything else is purely speculation.

Has he discussed where he will be streaming next?
