Dr Disrespect reportedly banned permanently on Twitch

4
Celebrity streamer Guy “Dr. Disrespect” Beahm has been banned from Twitch, making for a striking decision for a streamer with more than 4 million followers and an exclusivity deal. While this is Beahm’s second ban, reliable streaming and esports insider Rod Breslau says that his sources say that this ban is permanent. A Twitch representative issued a statement after a tweet was made confirming it was a permanent ban.

“As is our process, we take appropriate action when we have evidence that a streamer has acted in violation of our Community Guidelines or Terms of Service. These apply to all streamers regardless of status or prominence in the community.” they said.

At this point, it’s unclear why Disrespect was banned. His first ban came from recording inside of the bathroom at the Los Angeles Convention Center during E3, but it was only temporary. At the time of this writing, Beahm has yet to update his Twitter account, but his Twitch account has been removed from the site.

This comes after a series of sexual misconduct accusations in both the streaming world and the broader video game industry, though there is not any evidence that Beahm’s ban is related to this recent string of bans. Twitch recently made a statement about its ongoing efforts to limit impropriety on the platform:

We want to provide an update on our investigations into the recent allegations of sexual abuse and harassment involving Twitch streamers and actions we’re taking. We are reviewing each case that has come to light as quickly as possible, while ensuring appropriate due diligence as we assess these serious allegations. We’ve prioritized the most severe cases and will begin issuing permanent suspensions in line with our findings immediately. In many of the cases, the alleged incident took place off Twitch, and we need more information to make a determination. In some cases we will need to report the case to the proper authorities who are better placed to conduct a more thorough investigation. For those who’ve come forward and would like to share additional information, and to anyone who hasn’t shared their experience and wants to do so, you can report confidentially through the reporting tools on each streamer’s channel page.

In the past, Twitch has come under fire for not holding large streamers accountable for rule violations in the same way that it did small accounts. If Dr. Disrespect’s ban is indeed permanent, it would represent one of the largest disciplinary actions the company has taken.

what makes me wonder is why women are allowed to show their boobs and vagina but us guys would get banned for the same thing

Honestly Twitch's rules are broken, they seem to change whenever they ban someone for a reason, like you could do the same as someone else but you could get banned and they'd come up with a new rule as to why "you" were banned.
