Rainbow Six Siege EU servers have had more than their fair share of problems in the last few weeks, frustrating players and baffling Ubisoft’s engineers. Now, they’ve managed to figure out a fix for the problem and they’re going to be compensating EU Rainbow Six Siege players for their trouble.

In early June 2020, Ubisoft noticed that there were several issues with players connecting to EU servers, largely focused on custom games. It took them more than a week to determine that it wasn’t a DDOS attack or anything of the sort, but 10% of games played in the region were having problems.

After further investigation, Ubisoft discovered that the Rainbow Six Siege EU servers were having problems due to a recent optimization change. Once this change was reverted, everything returned to normal.

Now that the server problems have been fixed, there’s one more thing that needs to be done: a lot of players in the EU region had to wade through some truly awful connectivity issues. That’s why EU players will be getting Renown boosts for a period of time to make up for the server issues they had to deal with. No specific launch date has been announced just yet, but it will be coming sometime soon.
