FIFA 21 on PC is the Same as PS4, Xbox One Version

3.5
Last week, Electronic Arts teased the future of its sports franchises at EA Play Live 2020. We got to see snippets of FIFA 21 and Madden NFL 21 running on Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5. New details on deferred lighting, improved character models and much more were also touched upon. Unfortunately, those playing on PC won’t be getting the next-gen versions.

According to the game’s official FAQ, FIFA 21 on PC will be the same version as the Xbox One and PS4. No further details were provided beyond promising “more information on it in the coming weeks.” But it’s certainly odd especially since the current-gen versions will be lacking in features, essentially.

Of course, it’s possible that Electronic Arts is trying to cater to the vast majority of PC players that don’t have powerful configurations. It could also be that the Xbox Series X and PS5 versions are built in completely different ways, making it difficult to simply implement various improvements as graphical options. Whatever the case may be, we will have to wait for more details.

FIFA 21 is currently slated to release on October 9th for Xbox One, PS4 and PC. The next-gen versions will be launching later with free, year-long upgrade plans for current-gen players.

So does this mean we will not be able to enjoy better graphics/smoother gameplay on PC?
