PS5 Amazon UK Placeholder Listing Mentions £599 Price

3.9
According to an Amazon UK listing discovered today, Sony's PS5 will be coming with a £599.99 price tag when it launches in a few months in holidays 2020.

An Amazon UK placeholder page has emerged today for Sony’s upcoming PS5. While the page itself cannot be found, a screenshot taken by an Amazon shopper who managed to place in an PlayStation 5 order was shared online (thanks Wario64). The screenshots reveal that the PS5 would supposedly be priced £599.99. That would probably mean $599.99 for those living in the land of freedom and democracy, America. Another noteworthy point is how this is a placeholder for a 2TB version of the next-gen console.

Please keep in mind this might only be a placeholder price and subject to change. One thing certain however, is the PS5 reveal event happening tomorrow, June 11, with actual games. Sony is hyping up the event too with a customized Twitter hashtag. We will learn more in just a few more hours now.

Seeing we’ll be witnessing actual PlayStation 5 games during the reveal event on June 11, DualShockers jotted down predictions on what kind of games could be revealed then. Make sure to share yours in the comments as well.

Moreover, certain popular IPs are expected to make a comeback on PS5. One of these is Dead Space, as one of its writers teased we’ll see a game he’s working on for the past few years at the PS5 reveal event.

PS5 is scheduled to launch in holiday 2020, similarly to Microsoft’s Xbox Series X.

No way it'll cost £599, that is excessive.

Ryan All I will say is for that price you might as well invest in a PC.

Depends what for. If you want to game and enjoy, you'll need to spend an extra £400+ on top of that.

Mario350 thats for the 2tb model 600 pounds or euros or whatever idk eu money well enough but thats like 800 or 760$ but that a price for a terabyte.
the real price for the console itself is gonna be around 400$ because thats just way too much thats the price that killed the ps3 at launch

hell i cant see them making that 800gig(if its true to be 800 gigs) model being 700$ cad that would just be the most dumbest thing ever

Do you know how expensive an SSD is? With both inflation and a serious upgrade in hardware anyone whining about $700 should just stick with their current gen consoles.

Before I read the article I didn't take into account how much things costs, it's pricey but most likely worth it I guess.

That's not a terrible price point considering how big of an upgrade it will be. I'm sure people will be unhappy with the price tag however. It was pretty unrealistic that people thought it was going to be $400 previously lol.
