Battlefield 3 beta now available to the masses

Battlefield 3's open multiplayer beta should now be available for all on Xbox 360, PS3* and PC. The infantry focused "Operation Metro" map is the sampler for the beta, pitting two sides against each other in Rush Mode. One team defends, while the other attempts to destroy several sets of objectives before they get turned to Swiss cheese.

The beta will end on October 10. There's not much time to fret afterward, as the full game will hit stores and EA's Origin shop on October 25.

*Update: According to EA's Battlefield Twitter, PS3 owners in North America will have to wait until later today.

Playing it on and off since the BETA was released for MoH LE buyers, and I must say it's pretty awesome. Love it!

Yeah, it had tons of potential, there are a lot of bugs but thats why we are playing the beta on the new engine. The best thing NO LAG (well i have not experience any and im level 19.) Graphic are not good (again Beta, not all textures were uploaded.) Its a lot easier to use the controls and run around compared to recent BF games, which I think will bring over a lot of COD fans. To tell you the truth I was impressed enough by the beta, I can safely say now, I WILL NOT BE BUYING MW3..

There's a spot where you can do it everytime... makes it a bit more interesting i supose.

Wish i knew where it was cuz you die so quickly on the game =/

Yeah it does, there are certain spots where if you lay down you can see through the ground. Also there are some railings that you can not jump over once into the city on Op. Metro.
