Battlefield 3 beta now available to the masses

Battlefield 3's open multiplayer beta should now be available for all on Xbox 360, PS3* and PC. The infantry focused "Operation Metro" map is the sampler for the beta, pitting two sides against each other in Rush Mode. One team defends, while the other attempts to destroy several sets of objectives before they get turned to Swiss cheese.

The beta will end on October 10. There's not much time to fret afterward, as the full game will hit stores and EA's Origin shop on October 25.

*Update: According to EA's Battlefield Twitter, PS3 owners in North America will have to wait until later today.

After playing the beta i am so disappointed in ea that i canceled my pre order for all who say its a beta NO there should not be this many bugs 3 weeks from release and i see so many campers, people from Call of duty serious destroying another game and people who think that the beta goes to the real game being level 45 for real? im not even level 30 in bfbc2 and i got it release day

This games sucks so bad, you can't cook your grenades, there's no visual control configuration, if you go into prone on a hill it will show you under the map, and the servers have an incredible lag

the game drops in less than 30 , calling it beta is like a store doing a GRAND re-opening and only changing the bread isle . this server is a MAJOR issue . cod drops 2 games a year and how long in between BF's ? sucks balls....

I must have had too high of expectations, but this demo (Don't call it a beta, a beta is several months in advance like GoW3's, 5 months.) has disappointed me. Dice needs to fix quite a bit in less than a month before it becomes known as the over-hyped let down of the year. Several A/V issues, hit detection being spotty, if MW3 just does what it needs to do, EA is going to look really stupid.
