Microsoft and 343 Industries are moving full speed ahead with the development of the upcoming Halo Infinite, but it’s not the only game in the series that they’re currently working on. A new job listing posted by the developer states that a new Halo project is also currently in the works (or close to being in the works, at any rate).

The listing for the position of Senior Producer mentions that the person landing the job will be working on “a new project in the Halo universe.” That’s about as unspecific as it can get, and it’s not exactly a shocker that more Halo games besides Infinite are also in the pipeline, but it is interesting that the game is already in development. The way it’s worded gives the impression that it might be a spinoff or side project- perhaps a Halo Wars 3 is in the works?

Whatever it is, it’s far off into the future. In the here and now, Halo Infinite release for Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PC this Holiday, and we’ll be getting our first real look at its gameplay this July. Meanwhile, 343 Industries are also busy with their gradual rollout of Halo: The Master Chief Collection on PC, with Halo 3 next in line to come out. It should be entering beta this month.
