Electronic Arts will bring its EA Access subscription service to Steam in the near future.

Steam is advertising EA Access as “coming soon” on product pages for newly released EA games.

EA Access will be the first gaming subscription service available on Steam.

Priced at $4.99/£3.99 per month or $29.99/£19.99 annually on PS4 and Xbox One, it offers unlimited access to the full versions of more than 50 of EA’s back catalogue games.

Subscribers also save 10% on EA digital content, including full games and DLC, and get access to exclusive trials of new EA titles before they launch, with in-game progress carrying over to the full game if they choose to buy it.

EA currently offers a similar PC service called Origin Access for its own digital distribution platform, Origin.



The company announced last year that it would bring its games to Steam, starting with Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order on November 15.

It released multiple titles on the digital marketplace on Thursday, with each discounted by at least 50% until July 9.

These include Dragon Age 2 (£8.99), Crysis 3 (£8.24), Need for Speed Heat (£23.99), Mirror’s Edge Catalyst (£8.99), Plants vs. Zombies: Battle for Neighborville (£17.99) and Burnout Paradise Remastered (£4.49).

EA CEO Andrew Wilson said last year: “Through our subscription, great games and more, we’re excited to bring players in the Steam and Origin communities together with access to the best games, whenever and wherever they want to play.”
