Outriders won’t have microtransactions, or use Denuvo DRM

4.2
Outriders developers are already tackling a couple of points of worry for fans.

As part of yesterday’s Outriders gameplay livestream, developer People Can Fly took a few minutes to answer a number of fan questions. Unsurprisingly, one of those was about microtransactions, and the other the contentious Denuvo DRM.

Robbie Palmer, community manager at publisher Square Enix, addressed both towards the end of the stream. Palmer confirmed that Outriders will not have any microtransactions, and reiterated comments made by the developer earlier this year that Outriders is not a live service game.

This should be a relief for many, as the game looks to be a perfect candidate for live service-style monetisation with its emphasis on loot, gear and customisation – all elements common in today’s service games.

It’s also surprising that the publisher would answer a question about DRM this early. Palmer confirmed that Denuvo will not be used with Outriders, putting many minds at ease.

Outriders is coming to PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X this holiday.

Anime Good sure glad they won't have microtransactions.

This is to everyone here who has comments about the micro transactions, didn't want to quote all of your comments though. Not sure what the issue is with micro transactions... They are not forcing you to buy them.
