Valve believes Steam on Xbox 360 is still a possibility

4.7
Speaking with Develop in an interview, Faliszek reiterated comments made by Valve head Gabe Newell last month, that the decision to not include the service on the console was made by Microsoft and not through any exclusivity deal with Sony.

Faliszek said that there’s “some things going on with Portal 2 right now,” in regards to the firm’s plans on the console but as far as Steam integration was concerned, “we’ll see.”

While Valve has said in the past Sony should be commended for allowing Steam on its system, Faliszek said the firm still has to go through Sony’s approval process in order to update games through the service.

“There’s some big changes that still need to go through, so we’ll have to see,” he said when asked if Steam could provide incremental updates to PS3 games. “We’re open to that and it’d be cool idea but we’re just going to have to wait.”

Yes, pleeeaase. I still prefer PC, and if I had one good enough for gaming I would use it. Anywho, it would be an awesome idea.

Steam games on the market and community integration in multiplayer matchmaking would be a good thing, but as far as a steam app or something like combining the markets just seems pointless..

1yoyo105 I don't see it as a possibility in my opinion. The 360 is basically it's own Steam but with a lot more. What would be the point?

Agreed.

MS are money grabbing whores, but Steam isn't far behind, great example of which is newly released games going for silly prices where CD keys that can be bought and added to steam for 10quid cheaper - example being Deus Ex.

Steam have excellent weekend deals/sales/black Friday sales - otherwise I buy the games elsewhere. The only reason I have a steam account is for Half life that required one on release at the time, it's what made it the platform it is today.

Most games that are on steam eg: popular cheap games could easily be put on xbla or indie games
