Epic Games Store now offers self-service refunds

4.5
The Epic Games Store now lets users self-refund qualifying purchases online.

Epic says all games are eligible for a refund within two weeks of purchase for any reason as long as they haven’t been played for over two hours.

Earlier this week it was reported that Epic is also offering partial refunds if you buy an Epic Games Store title which goes on sale shortly afterwards.

Other newly launched features include keyless integration, with third-party digital sales platforms Fanatical, Green Man Gaming and Genba Digital now offering keyless purchases for Epic Games Store titles.

Epic says it has also released new bandwidth management tools offering players more control over download options, and made changes to ownership authorisation to better support offline play.

Upcoming Epic Games Store features include a mod marketplace and an Achievement system.

“Players will soon be able to browse a catalog of player and developer made mods for their games,” Epic says. “Players will be able to auto-install mods into games they own, that are managed by the Epic Games launcher or download the files separately for other games.

“The Achievement service for titles on the Store is currently in development. We look forward to sharing more information about the system soon.”

The Epic Games Store recently launched its ‘Mega Sale’ featuring discounts of up to 75% off selected titles until June 11, including Control for £23.99, Borderlands 3 for £24.99 and Assassin’s Creed Odyssey for £16.49.

It’s also offering registered users a free $10/£10 coupon. Every time you use a $10/£10 coupon on an eligible game or add-on priced $14.99/£13.99 or above during the sale period you’ll receive an additional $10 coupon.

2hour playtime is a bit low for a refund, there shouldnt be a god damn timer for a refund, 24hours minimum at best not stupid two hours.

takes more then two hours to 100% know if you cant run that said game same issue with steams crappy refund they only refund you if the game full on stops working(if the reason is good enough my buddy had 30hours in division and got a refund because game updated and didnt work).

moral is there shouldnt be a god damn timer on anything, and i dont trust epic with my money anyways since they are now owned by china(tencent) and tim sweeny is a moron wont release the source code to know they dont have spyware.

but yeah self servicing refund is a really bad idea you can milk it by giving yourself more money then you paid for unless they implemented a system knowing how much you paid for the game and how much to give you back
