Bungie has confirmed Destiny 2 will come to next-gen consoles

Destiny 2 will be released for Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5, developer Bungie confirmed on Thursday.

In a reply to Xbox Series X’s list of development partners, the developer confirmed Destiny would be coming to “next-gen platforms” and that more details would be revealed in the future.

It’s possible that Destiny 2 could support Xbox Smart Delivery, the platform scheme that lets players buy a game once and play it across Xbox One and Xbox Series X.

While all first-party Xbox Game Studios titles will support Smart Delivery, third parties can choose whether to or not.


Destiny 2 is currently available for Xbox One, PS4, PC and Stadia, with players able to transfer their save files between platforms.

Gossip I wonder why they just wouldn't make the third on the next gen instead of bringing the second.


Bungie did say we won't say a third installment for a while not too long ago.
