Bandai Namco revealed Scarlet Nexus, a futuristic, psychic and anime themed action JRPG coming to Xbox Series X.

Bandai Namco revealed Scarlet Nexus, a new action JRPG on today’s Inside Xbox. Scarlet Nexus will be launching on Xbox Series X and Xbox One, and the reveal trailer included some gameplay.

Scarlet Nexus is set in a dystopian far-future where an hormone granting psychic abilities was discovered, changing the world forever. Around the time this spectacular discovery happened, mutants known as Others began to descend from the sky. The Others are resistant to conventional weapons, and are in constant pain because of mutations, seeking the brains of living beings. Only psychic fighters can resist, and the Other Supression Force, humanity’s last defense, was formed.

Scarlet Nexus’ protagonist is Yuito Sumeragi, a fresh recruit to the OSF aiming to become an elite psionic like the one who saved him as a child. Players can use psychic abilities to lift, break and throw objects in their environment to fight by building up combos. All while exploring the futuristic city of New Himuka, uncovering the secrets of psychic abilities.

Bandai Namco and Xbox describe the new IP as Brain Punk. The game’s landscapes, themes and story are inspired by anime and popular SF works. The game also shares staff with Tales of Vesperia, though no one is named in the press release.

Scarlet Nexus will be able to run on 4K: 4K Ultra HD on Xbox Series X. It’s overall optimized for the upcoming Xbox and will take advantage of all the platforms’s capabilities. According to the official site, the game will have incredible load-times, visuals, responsiveness, and framerates up to 120 FPS.

Gossip Looks very weird... I don't think I'd buy this.

Lgnd Honestly didn't find it very interesting, though I'm not an anime fan either.

I actually think this has great potential, excited to see more on it.
