Digimon Survive Gets Indefinitely Delayed According to Famitsu

3.5
This week's Famitsu switched the release date of Digimon Survive, coming to PS4, Switch, Xbox One, and PC, from 2020 to unspecified, meaning it got delayed.

Digimon Survive is getting delayed according to Famitsu. The game was supposed to release sometime in 2020, but its release date estimate was now switched to “unspecified” in the latest Famitsu magazine.

Weekly Famitsu Magazine May 7 2020 issue, which just released in Japan on April 23, features its usual list of upcoming announced games, with their release date information. In this list, Digimon Survive is now listed with an unspecified release date.

Here’s a screenshot showing part of the list. Digimon Survive is at the bottom, in the category of games whose release date estimate is unspecified together with games such as The Last of Us Part II. The way its name is in bold indicates a change in release date information compared to last week.

Moreover, the list is divided by platforms. Digimon Survive is listed this way on the lists of each of its release platforms in Japan, PS4 and Switch. This means it’s very unlikely this is a listing error from Famitsu’s part. Famitsu’s reporters definitely heard something we didn’t yet. An official announcement regarding the delay will probably be made by Bandai Namco in the next few days. It’ll most probably be in the form of a statement on the official site. We’ll keep you updated, so stay tuned like Ulala would say.

Before all this, Digimon Survive was planned to release in 2020. Outside Japan, the game will launch on PC via Steam, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and Xbox One.

Digimon Survive was announced in July 2018 for a 2019 release. The game already got delayed, and info on it was relatively scarce until summer 2019 and inside 2020, where we saw new screenshots and info regarding the story, the digimon, the characters, and the game systems. A developer diary with producers Kazumasa Habu and Tsuzuki Katsuaki was also published by Bandai Namco.

Personally speaking, another game indefinitely delayed I’m looking forward to is Ryukishi07 and itaru Hinoue’s Kaleidoscope of Phantasm Prison.

This is the first time I'm hearing about this game but I'll be buying this whenever it hits the market! Hopefully with the extra time they can make it for next generation.

Sad to see games/events being delayed/cancelled. Seeing this cancelled indefinitely really sucks and I didn't even plan on getting it or have any interest. I guess it should be expected. :(

Int Not surprising at all, I'd imagine a lot more games are going to be delayed as well...

Yep unfortunately there's going to be a lot of games going to be delayed for this matter which really sucks but when we have the game release it's okay people go wild when certain games they like goes delayed to this world state.

Yeah, if anything it's going to produce more hype around the games which is a good thing I guess!
