Call of Duty: Warzone Cheaters Have to Play Each Other Now

A new update to Call of Duty: Warzone and Modern Warfare means that suspected cheaters will be forced to play against each other going forward. Hacking and cheating isn't exactly uncommon, historically speaking, in the various Call of Duty games, and it can absolutely ruin multiplayer matches. In the past, developer Infinity Ward has banned massive amounts of cheaters and hackers, but this appears to not be working up to the company's desires, at least not quick enough. So, as a result, the developer is expanding how it combats those who exploit its game.

Taking to Twitter, Infinity Ward announced a new anti-cheat update for the game and revealed a new in-game feature involving player reporting. More specifically, Infinity Ward has revealed that players -- starting this week -- will receive an in-game confirmation when a player they reported is banned.

"Players in Warzone and Modern Warfare who report suspected cheaters will receive confirmation in-game when a player is banned," writes Infinity Ward.

To couple this, the developer is also improving game security and will now put suspected cheaters all into a match with each other. Lastly, it's increasing the resources behind-the-scenes that tackle these type of problems.


Meanwhile, as you can see in the tweet above, it's also working on on adding a report functionality to the killcam and spectate modes. In other words, add the ability to report players while viewing a killcam or spectating.

Of course, it remains to be seen how big of a difference this will make, but this will bring the game on par with other multiplayer titles that make usage of similar features.

Call of Duty: Warzone and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare are both available on PS4, Xbox One, and PC, however, while the latter is a premium product, the former is completely free.

It's all fun and games until someone sorts a god mode hack. Then they're forced to tasked loads of free wins. But I'm glad to see they won't be coming against me.

This is actually funny but stupid in my opinion. If people wanna be bold and cheat online just ban them completely from the game. All this is doing is saying "okay if you wanna cheat go play with the cheaters". Makes no sense.

I really hope they don't think that this should be a solution to the problems. The only reason why I think they don't think an anticheat is worth it is because they have a new cod coming out later this year which will probably include a new BR which is really dumb. It should have had an anticheat from the start.


Yeah, I'm hoping they take this L and add anti-cheat to all their upcoming games.

This is a few days late... Regardless this shouldn't be their "fix" for all of this. Give us an anti cheat so we can actually play the game without worrying about cheaters ruining the game for everyone. Nothing is worse than looting up and then getting your whole team headshotted across the map.

nah.. this isn't the play, if you look at the like system where it detects how many reports a user has, people like Shroud are up there and they don't cheat!? so.. this is gonna be a mess it's a great idea but unless every single person is looked into iti'll be bad.
