Final Fantasy 7 Remake Gets 1997 Vs 2020 Comparison

4.1
It’s been 23 years now since the original PlayStation release of Final Fantasy 7. Now the remake is almost officially here (though some regions have already gotten their hands on the game), and well, things have certainly changed haven’t they? The technology has progressed a lot in the last two and an half decades, and today we got a video showing just how much.

The video comes from Gamereactor, which you can see in full video below. The graphics obviously are radically different, which is to be expected. But there’s also direct comparisons between scenes of the game from each version, and just the framing and voice acting can make a world of difference.

Final Fantasy 7 Remake will release exclusively for the PlayStation 4 officially on April 10th. Unfortunately, if you have the game pre-ordered digitally, you’ll have to wait for that faithful day before it’ll unlock.

Gossip It's so cool to see how graphics have evolved.

It's pretty crazy with most games how far they have come. I remember when the first 2k came out that showed sweat on players faces I thought it was amazing lol.

It's honesty mad, I remember playing San Andreas thinking that them graphics were amazing, now look at the graphics of some games..

Int I've never played any of the FF series but I've heard they are good. If any FF fans are on here, let me know if it's worth the money and if not why?

FF7 is regarded as one of the best in the series, the remake will allow a lot of people to enjoy that experience but in a more updated environment. Some of the story has been changed, so if you want the original story I recommend playing the original

Some other notable FF entries are FF9 and FF10, both are available on the steam store or multiple consoles.

Do you recommend that I play the others for the story or do you think I could just pick up the game as it is? Maybe just research the background story?

I'm glad it's on Steam as I only play PC.

Each game is a unique story, so there is no need to play the previous ones. The only exceptions to this are X-2 and 13-2 13-3

I was always curious about these games. I have never played one but I guess it's nice to know you can hop in at anytime basically.
