PlatinumGames has promised a fifth announcement in 2020, after its latest reveal turned out to be an April Fools joke.

The Bayonetta developer has added a fifth ‘Bonus Stage’ item to its Platinum Four website, with a date sometime in 2020.

The marketing campaign has been running since the start of the year and first unveiled the crowdfunding campaign for The Wonderful 101: Remastered, which went on to raise some $2.1m / £1.7m.

In late February Platinum followed up its Kickstarter with the announcement of Project G.G. (working title) from director Hideki Kamiya, described as PlatinumGames’ “first fully owned and self-published title.”

Project G.G.’s announcement arrived in conjunction with the third piece of news: a new Tokyo-based PlatinumGames studio.

As part of the project’s development Platinum said it would be conducting “a wide-scale recruitment drive” for a new Tokyo studio. It was suggested in Famitsu that Platinum is looking to grow Project G.G.’s team from 15 to 100 people.

These games have always seemed like a weeb type game. Looks interesting enough to try if it was free or on the gamepass but not something I would buy.
