Call of Duty: Warzone update speeds up matchmaking

4.2
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare‘s new free-to-play battle royale mode Warzone has already received an update that should make jumping into matches of mass opponent obliterating a lot easier. Player counts needed to get a round up and running have been dropped so you won’t have to wait as long to get stuck in.

That’s according to developer Infinity Ward in a post on Twitter announcing: “If you’re already in Warzone, we’ve lowered the player count requirements needed to start a match.” Plus, the studio has also said that staying put “in lobbies until they’re full will help you find matches quicker”, too. Warzone’s main battle royale mode sees up to 150 players take each other on in a giant map made up of both familiar and brand-new CoD locations.

One distinctive feature of the battle royale game’s gameplay is that getting killed doesn’t automatically mean you’re knocked out – you’ll get a chance to head into a Gulag where you’ll battle another player in a one-on-one gunfight, with the winner getting the chance to head back into the main fray.

If you’re just getting stuck into the new game, we’ve got you covered – check out our Warzone Gulag respawn guide to help you understand how this all works, as well as our Warzone Buy Stations and Warzone Contracts guides.

Fairly easy to get into a game now. It was somewhat slow before but now it's at a normal speed I would say.

Gonna test out the difference today and see what they changed for the matchmaking

Yeah it is quicker, we get 30 seconds of the warmup round to play now instead of yesterday where you entered the map and landed only for 5 seconds to pass and it's in the plane.
