Animal Crossing: New Horizons players will benefit from free updates and in-game events.

During today’s Animal Crossing: New Horizons Nintendo Direct, it was announced free updates will be added after the game launches, with seasonal events continually added throughout the year.

The first free update will be on release day, March 20, and with the update, you will be celebrating Bunny Day with a special event in April.

Through the free updates, new special events and seasonal guests will be introduced.

During today’s Direct, Nooklink, a new service available only through the Switch Online smartphone app, was announced. It allows you to bring custom designs from Animal Crossing: New Leaf and Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer into New Horizons by scanning QR Codes through the app.

It was also revealed that Nintendo Switch Online members can only have save data recovered one time due to loss or damage of the system, as the game does not currently support cloud saves.
