Alan Wake Has Returned to the Xbox Marketplace

3.8
Our long Alan Wake (American) Nightmare has now ended as the game has returned to Xbox's digital storefront.

After being removed from Xbox’s digital storefront in 2017 due to licensing issues with the game’s soundtrack, Remedy Entertainment’s cult-classic Alan Wake has finally found its way back to the marketplace this week.

As seen over on the Xbox Marketplace, Alan Wake once again appears when searched and can actively be purchased once again. The game retails for $19.99 and the version that is being sold is the one that originally released on Xbox 360. Alan Wake is apart of the Xbox One’s backward compatible program, however, so the 360 iteration is perfectly functional with Xbox One consoles.

Alan Wake should also be making a bigger splash later this year once again when Remedy releases a new DLC episode for its 2019 release of Control that is seemingly going to tie into Alan Wake. Details of how Alan Wake and Control will be tied together haven’t really been given by Remedy just yet and there’s still a whole lot we don’t know about the expansion. For now, the only concrete pieces of information that we have is that the DLC is going to be titled “AWE” and it’s set to release midway through 2020.

Alan Wake’s return to the Xbox Marketplace should finally bring about an end to the game being unavailable digitally in any location. If you’re looking to pick up the game on PC, you can also find it on Steam, the Epic Games Store, or even Humble Bundle. If we’re lucky, a sequel to Alan Wake will come about one day, alongside the TV show based on the game that is already in the works.
