Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary PC beta tests to begin next month

4.8
The first public tests for Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary on PC are starting soon.

Now that most of the work on the PC version of Halo: Reach is over, developer 343 Industries is shifting its focus to Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary, the next game to make the jump to PC.

In a forum post, the developer announced that testing will begin later this month with external partners, before it expands to more players early in February.

343 will only deploying the build to Halo Insiders, of course. If you’re interested, sign up and you may be picked for future tests.

This initial test will focus on basic gameplay elements such as dedicated servers and peer-to-peer connections, crossplay between Steam and Windows, UI and so on. Certain pieces of the single-player campaign and multiplayer will be available alongside basic character customisation.

No details about exactly what that content is going to be have been revealed just yet. But, judging by how things went down with Halo: Reach’s various tests, expect a smattering of campaign missions and multiplayer modes/maps early on.
