It Seems as If These Assassin’s Creed: Ragnarok Leaks Are All Fake

Leaks have been popping up surrounding a new Assassin's Creed, but these are all fake leaks according to Daniel Ahmad.

There have been a number of reports surrounding Ubisoft’s next potential Assassin’s Creed title, which is rumoured to be called Assassin’s Creed: Ragnarok. Well, according to Daniel Ahmad, not only are the leaks not entirely correct, but the game isn’t even going to be called Ragnarok.

Firstly, DualShockers, did see the news about the Amazon page leak, a “screenshot” that showed the German site with the details of the next Ubisoft Assassin’s Creed title, including a Standard, Gold, and Valhalla edition. However, after some internal chatting, Iyane Agossah pointed out that the leak was fake.

As if turns out, Twitter user @xj0nathan claims to have created the image which caught the attention of several outlets around the world. In a tweet they admit, “Well, it’s time to tell you the truth: it was I who created this image. So it is indeed a fake” The tweet also has a headline, “Thread on the lack of professionalism at certain JV sites”.

They also clarify that they did this “to denounce unprofessionalism on the part of certain video game sites that are ultimately not there to INFORM you but only to make you CLICK” They then go on in the thread to show how far the image spread, all of which didn’t source the original tweet. It’s safe to say, the leak is indeed fake and Amazon never leaked any information surrounding the next installment in the Assassin’s Creed franchise.

And then there’s a new leak which was originally posted to 4chan, but found its way to Gaming Route and then to ResetERA. The image shows an incredibly blurry photo of what is being said to be Assassin’s Creed: Ragnarok. The leak also includes details, such as the game being announced in February with a huge map planned to introduce Scandinavia and England. It also suggests the game will include a female version of the protagonist, Jora.

So, quite a range of information to sit alongside a blurry photo that seems to show a female character in front of a muscular statue with…what are those? Trees? Is that a dead body on the right too? It could be a large snake. Maybe a very round spider.

Anyway, Senior Analyst at Niko Partners Daniel Ahmad, otherwise known as ZhugeEX is well known through the industry for providing graphs and charts of video game statistics. He has also a reputation for having accurate information surrounding games and events. Well, there was that time where he did slap a PS5 logo on a fridge.

Ahamd took to ResetERA to state, “For what it’s worth. All of the new AC leaks so far have been incorrect. It’s not even called Ragnarok.” He also adds “Sure. Some of the details are right. Like improved combat or whatever. But in general they’re not that accurate.”

Nothing surprising there really as most games tend to strive to improve combat and other areas. But as it turns out, these leaks we’re seeing pop up everywhere seem to be incorrect. Or at least that’s what we’re seeing.

We did see news however last year through an in-game The Division 2 poster that seemed to indicate that the next title would involve Vikings. As always with leaks, it’s worth waiting until an official announcement is made before taking anything as gospel.
