Sony’s VP Says Microsoft is Protecting An Inferior Product

4.4
The Sony senior vice president of publisher relations Rob Dyer has given his view on the relationship Microsoft has with gaming publishers, both big and small. He discusses things that are usually kept closed door in the gaming industry, mainly about how Microsoft apparently demands certain things of game publishers which is caused by their need to protect an inferior products.
Dyer doesn’t hold back while describing Microsoft’s policies while pitching what Sony has to offer. He is quoted saying, “I think what [Xbox Europe boss] Chris Lewis was referring to was something that we’ve known about for quite some time, that we’ve been dealing with, and trying to deal with – in the spirit of competition, more than anything, we look for ways to give our consumer reason to have the PS3. I think what Chris and the other representatives at Microsoft are doing is protecting an inferior technology.”
He continues on to bring up Blu-Ray, exlucivity and Sony’s new relationship with Valve. Dyer, in the interview, sounded to be trying to stir up a revolt between Microsoft and devopers, though he does see why they have these policies……to protect an inferior product.
I encourage you to read the whole interview, it’s surely got some console wars ammo.

You there: the $70 is not only for security. It might as well be: But no. That money you invest into Xbox Live. Xbox Live is where the money is going. It is used to get more exclusives and more content exclusively for the Xbox. For example: Call of Duty map packs coming earlier, more exclusive games, better app packages: ESPN, Zune, etc... And on top of that, that money is going for research on more advances in technology. Such as a camera that can read skeletal reading, to movement. Be careful what you say: $70 yearly fee does not go for "Security" only. And for your record: its $59.99 not including TAX. Playstation Plus isn't quite "FREE" either.

*This comes from an owner of both consoles*

For Sony's VP to say that Xbox is an inferior product is ob-surge. "That Inferior Product" sells circles around their "Ferior Product". Of course you get a better All-In-One package. But when you try to get everything and not focus on one thing at a time. You end up getting a All-In-One mediocre product. Xbox is not trying to "Get it all" it is focusing into the gold-mine of todays' society: the internet. Xbox Live is way superior to PSN NO QUESTIONS ASKED. Of course you have to pay. But they does not take away from the amazing online experience. "Inferior Product"? No. "Not as much features?" Yes. But better console: Your option!
