Tarsier Studios is now part of the ever-expanding THQ Nordic/Koch family.

Embracer Group, the parent company of THQ Nordic and Koch Media, has acquired Tarsier Studios and its IPs for SEK 88 million (~$9.4M) in cash, and another SEK 11 million (~$1.2M) in B-shares.

The Swedish studio is responsible for horror adventure Little Nightmares, and is currently working on its sequel, Little Nightmares 2. Ownership of the The Little Nightmares IP remains with Bandai Namco, however.

“It feels exciting to, after a 15-year long journey with Tarsier, partner up with Embracer to continue develop the potential that our Studio has,” said studio head, Andreas Johnsson.

“We at Embracer are impressed with the position and the team that Tarsier has built up during 15 years, which is evident looking at the fantastic reviews that several of the studio’s famous productions have received, and with the future ambitions of the Studio,” added Embracer co-founder and CEO, Lars Wingefors.

Tarsier will continue working on Little Nightmares 2 in the near future, moving on to new projects after it ships.
