Resident Evil 3 remake PC system requirements

3.8
Resident Evil 3 remake PC system requirements are now live on the game’s Steam page. The remake of the 1999 horror classic will once again follow Jill Valentine through the bloodied streets of Raccoon City, once again re-imagined in Capcom’s visceral modern style. So, do you want the good news or the bad news first?

The bad news is the recommended specs are currently MIA. The Steam page makes only light reference to owning a 64-bit processor and ‘operating system’ to play, and I sure hope you’ve got both of those or else the good news won’t sound so great after all.

The good news is that the minimum requirements should be amicable to even the most dated PCs. You’ll need an Intel Core i5 4460 or AMD FX 6300 CPUs minimum in order to play – both CPUs from the first half of the now ebbing decade – and at least an Nvidia GTX 760 or AMD RX 260X. That’s potentially good news for owners of mid-tier graphics cards past, such as the GTX 1060 or RX 580, which would appear plenty capable for the latest Resi remake.

A remake of Resident Evil 3: Nemesis, a PlayStation title released in 1999, Resident Evil 3 will once again see a total overhaul of the game’s graphics and gameplay – in part thanks to the RE Engine. It’s a relief to see Capcom offer a pared-down fidelity setting for users running tech somewhat past its prime, and a little less capable than today’s best graphics cards.

Here are the full Resident Evil 3 remake system requirements, or you can take a look at our partner site, System Requirements Lab, to see if your gaming PC is up to the task.

These specs seem to be common among newer PC games. Wonder what the "recommended" specs are, not that I have to worry about it. c:

I've never played the original RE3, nor did I play RE2 which the remake was fantastic so really excited for this one!
