Batman: Arkham Origins Voice Actor Teases Announcement at Game Awards

WB Games Montreal's much-teased Batman game could be finally unveiled later tonight.

If we’re lucky, it seems like we could finally be learning just what WB Games Montreal is working on tonight at The Game Awards.

In a new tweet from voice actor Roger Craig Smith, it was teased that the actor will have a project that he is involved with announced tonight at the video game awards show. “Keep them eyes and ears on The Game Awards tonight!” Smith said in his tweet. “Got a little somethin’ we’re cookin’ up for ya.”

This ties back to Batman specifically because Smith served as the voice actor for Batman/Bruce Wayne in Batman: Arkham Origins, which released back in 2013. With WB Games Montreal, the studio that worked on Origins, now developing the next entry in the Batman series, it stands to reason that Smith will once again return to be involved with the game. Plus, longtime Batman voice actor Kevin Conroy has already confirmed he’s not involved with this mysterious new Batman game, adding even more credence to the fact that Smith will be coming back to voice the character.

The only problem here is that just because Smith seems to be teasing an announcement for The Game Awards, it doesn’t necessarily mean that this reveal will be related to Batman. Smith has previously been a voice actor for a litany of other video games, some of which include Sonic the Hedgehog, Assassin’s Creed, and Apex Legends.

Still, with how much WB Games Montreal has been blatantly teasing work on a Batman game in recent months, it stands to reason that this project has to be revealed sooner rather than later. Tonight at The Game Awards seems like just as good of a time as any to divulge the rumored Batman: Arkham Legacy.

Yin I know Kevin Conroy can't do the voice forever, but man, I was really hoping he would stick around a bit longer. That dude's voice is Batman's voice for me. Smith's ain't bad, but I'm selfish and not ready to let go of Conroy yet. Maybe he will show up in future projects or something, hopefully. Anyway, pumped for a new Batman game if it is anything like the other Arkham games. Hopefully, there is an actual teaser and announcement about it this time.

He had a cameo in the Arrowverse Crisis crossover as Batman!

Yeah he did. While the character went a route I wasn't expecting, I loved it. While it wasn't Earth 1's Batman (Kate's Bruce), it was a nice kind of passing of the torch scene. Was awesome.
