Ninja Talks on Faze Jarvis’ Lifetime Fortnite Ban

"it's just a stupid kid making a stupid decision, didn't really fully think about it."

A popular content creator in the Fortnite scene known Faze Jarvis was recently banned for life from Epic Games’ Fortnite after he showed video footage of him using an aimbot to cheat in a solo’s match. Ninja has now become involved in the conversation surrounding the lifetime ban after making comments during his own live stream.

To give context, Faze Jarvis posted a video explaining that he had been banned, and you’ve no doubt seen the images shared online of the 17-year-old crying while he apologies to his fans. From his video, he seems to have been unaware that there would be such severe consequences for his actions, “It didn’t even cross my mind to think that I could be banned for life” he explained.

Richard Tyler Blevins, better known as Ninja has jumped in with his thoughts on the situation, and it appears to have sparked up mixed reactions online. During his Mixer stream, Ninja was in conversation with members of his party discussing the situation, the video on the conversation can be found below as a recording of Ninja’s stream.

He says towards the start, “it’s just a stupid kid making a stupid decision, didn’t really fully think about it.” He mentions that he thinks a 6-month ban from competitive should have been issued rather than a permanent ban. Although, as the video progress it changes from 3-months, 6-months, and 12-months.

They go on to discuss that a permanent ban could potentially ruin Faze Jarvis’ career with Ninja mentioning “what else is he going to play? He’s got to transition over from one of the most popular games” Ninja confirms that he doesn’t feel bad for Jarvis and that he isn’t empathizing.

He brings up Logan Paul while mentioning that other kids have done far worse on the internet and not been banned for it. His example is when Logan Paul filmed a dead body hanging in Japan’s Aokigahara forest, but YouTube didn’t ban him from the platform, instead only revoking monetization for a while.

“There’s a difference between a content creator who has millions of subscribers, hundreds of thousands of followers, who gets banned from literally what makes him money, and there’s a difference between some kid who is just a piece of s*** who has absolutely zero followings, has zero money that comes from Fortnite, from gaming, and hacks.” He explains that banning the latter, nothing would happen to them, but banning Jarvis, “the stakes are different.” and should be handled differently.

Throughout the video, Ninja’s thoughts are constantly challenged by his squad but his view seems to remain that Jarvis doesn’t deserve a lifetime ban because he’s a content creator who makes money from the game and should be treated differently from those who cheat for the hell of it.

What are your thoughts surrounding this? Should Faze Jarvis face the lifetime ban, or should he have a reduction for whatever reason?

lol wut?

1. Ninja never once said that Jarvis did nothing wrong. He said that the punishment maybe shouldn't have been so severe. That's all. He's allowed to be wrong about that.

2. He has every "right" to say literally whatever he wants about literally anything he wants, it's called freedom of speech, look it up.

3. I agree that Jarvis knew exactly what he was doing and should be perma banned just like anyone else.
