The Outer Worlds Sales Exceed Take-Two’s Expectations

4.3
Obsidian Entertainment’s RPG The Outer Worlds came out last month and was met with strong praise all around, with critics and fans praising it for its writing, its world-building, its choice and consequence mechanics, and a number of other things, and it seems that praise has translated too great sales as well- which is sort of unprecedented for an Obsidian game.

During their latest quarterly financial call, Take-Two Interactive – the parent company of The Outer Worlds publisher Private Division – said that the RPG was a critical and commercial success, and that sales for it have actually exceeded their expectations. No actual sales figures were provided though.

The publisher has also narrowed down the release window for the game’s upcoming Nintendo Switch port. We’ve known that it’s supposed to come out in 2020, and Take-Two now confirms that it’ll be out in the first quarter of the year, which means the game will be launching on the Switch before April.

The Outer Worlds is out now for PS4, Xbox One, and PC.

Not like it matters since Microsoft will be their publisher going forward presumably. I mean MS did acquire them earlier this year...
