After many years of being somewhat neglected, the PlayStation classic of Final Fantasy 8 got a remaster that introduced the game to a new generation. It’s always been somewhat of a black sheep in the trio of PS1 titles. It wasn’t quite as groundbreaking as 7 and lacked the throwback nostalgia of 9. Now we got a special video looking at some behind the scenes of the remaster.

The developer diary features the Director (Yoshinori Kitase), Producer (Shinji Hashimoto) and Art Director (Yusuke Naora) of Final Fantasy 8 as they reminiscent on the development cycle of the title. They talk about several aspects of the story, themes and anecdotes surrounding the game. It’s a good look for anyone curious about some of the thoughts behind the development.
