Fortnite Code Leak Indicates "The End" Lasts Until Tuesday

With Fortnite currently serving up nothing but a black hole for those who try to log on to play the battle royale game, it seems that the wait will be a long one. While normal "down time" typically takes about 6 hours for updates to fully applied before gamers can hop back onto the battle bus for new games, it seems the end of Season X and beginning of whatever is coming will require more time. What many are anticipating to launch as Fortnite: Chapter 2 could take as long as Tuesday morning for fans of Fortnite to get their hands on.

A new leak based on the coding behind Fortnite's official site indicates that the current phase of the game labeled as "The End" is scheduled to run through Tuesday morning at 6am ET. This would be the longest Fortnite has been down since its launch and becoming of a global phenomenon.

With the update being applied an fans hungry for Season 11, the common bet seems to be that Fortnite is going to be played on an entirely new map. This would be something brand new to the game which has commonly altered its map through various updates but never completely wiped it out. Apex Legends, another free-to-play game recently launched an entirely new map, which some think influenced Fortnite's decision.

Other rumors point to Fortnite: Chapter 2 launching as what might be an entirely new game. Whether or not gamers will have to download a new game which would operate separately is unclear but also unlikely. Fortnite will certainly see a major facelift when it comes back online but the originally downloaded game will likely still be working -- and the black hole plaguing gamers' screens today will be a thing of the past.

i doubt it considering the datamind cod logs can be changed any day, im not hoping the game comes back it ran out of ideas when they saw pubg being the only standalone br game(not counting h1z1 as that was a survival game with the br mod) but majorly ran out of ideas when the whole free hong kong bs happened, the reason why is because they are trying to stay away from the touching subject even though tim wont be banning players for opinions, im still believing im right about this being part of the activision and tencent bs about respecting china.

if the datamine is real and doesnt get changed at all id be surprised and maybe then we can f---ing have what was promised save the world free to play(only game mode worth playing fortnite for)

Just builds anticipation, in my opinion it's a smart move. If they're preparing for a "new chapter" leaving hardcore fans in suspense until the new season makes them crave playing the game and ultimately sets epic up for a good season launch.

It's fortnite it doesn't need anticipation and from what I saw after seeing the article they did a pretty shitty job. A 2 minute in game event then a bunch of streamers staring at a black screen for hours? I don't see how that builds hype. If anything it's just annoying.

I rarely play but from a game perspective, why would you release new content(in this case a season) just to not even have it up and running for two days. There's no logic behind doing that.

I'm shocked it will be off for that long. Game makes so much money. Not sure how people think it'd be off forever. I mean, they just released some Batman skins for $20. Would be rude as hell if they just went and shut it down completely.
