There’s no doubt that Call of Duty Modern Warfare is the biggest game set to release this month, and ahead of its launch date, Activision has today released what will likely be one of the game’s final trailers.
The gameplay launch trailer for Call of Duty Modern Warfare is here and it shows off more of what the shooter’s campaign will have in store. The video is only a little over a minute in total but continues to show off more set pieces that will clearly be featured in the story mode. We also see a whole lot of Captain Price, who is back in this revival of the Modern Warfare series and will be the game’s protagonist.
The trailer is also backed by music from Metallica’s classic heavy metal song Enter Sandman. The music choice makes the trailer seem very exciting and fun, which I guess is a bit of an odd tone compared to everything else we’ve seen of the game so far. Activision and Infinity Ward have tried to make clear that they’re telling a brutal, realistic story in the campaign of Modern Warfare and this trailer’s tone doesn’t share that same consistency, in my own opinion. I guess at the end of the day though you have to market this game to the masses and this video does just that.
