Modern Warfare 3 “Rotting From the Core”

And all I want to do, if you will, is to have them rot from the core', that's what EA had to say about Activision and the Call Of Duty games, as the company launches yet another attack ahead of the release of its own Battlefield 3.

EA has been trolling the Call Of Duty franchise for months now, with claims that Battlefield 3 is ‘flat out superior’ (and this long before Modern Warfare 3 had even been seen in public).

Activision hasn't quite been able to keep its mouth shut either, taunting EA about the fact that it still hasn't shown the console versions of Battlefield 3, but with this latest barb EA has taken the insults up a notch.

'I think that in a weird way it’s starting to feel a little to me like the Disneyland abstraction of a war game - a little bit jump the shark. So it feels a little bit like that to me,' said EA boss John Riccitiello in an interview with website IndustryGamers.

"The second thing is, I don’t know what’s in Elite right now, but based on what I’ve seen, I think they might’ve been better off holding the Elite thing and been a little more careful and show up a month after they’ve launched Modern Warfare 3,' he added.

'So I do think, though, that we’ve got the better game, the better tack. And if you think about your readership, it’s got a concentration of people that might tell the difference between a good game and a bad game. We’re going to do really well there.

'A lot of people bought Modern Warfare more for the coffee table and didn’t play it for 2 months. There’s sort of that mass audience... they’re going to win there. The question is, 'So, if the gamer buys our game and the mass audience buys their game, where do the two meet?' And all I want to do, if you will, is to have them rot from the core,' he continued.

Some might say he's got a point but are these really the sort of comments one of gaming's most powerful figures should be making in public? Maybe Bobby Kotick stole his Monster Munch or something but this sounds more like a schoolyard argument than insightful industry comment.

You serious? Have you not heard of the Homebrew or whatever the f its called? And do you not recall that they shut the PSN servers down for like 2 weeks BECAUSE of all the MODDING?

A little harsh words that definetly weren't needed at all. I am looking forward to BF3 more this year for the first time. Doesn't mean I am not getting MW3 it just means I might wait it out and get it for my birthday or christmas etc...

Also I am not sure about anyone else but I can't wait for the Halo 4 comparisons :D Halo 4 will be the greatest game ever made imo.

I never said anything about coffee or graphics. lol. I admit, BF3 graphics look brilliant. But graphics as good as even.. cod4 is acceptable for gamers. Too much wasted resources on graphics in BF3.

Ok let us go into grammar and spelling wars like mature adults shall we? First, I dont care if you played BC1 and 1943, I said you probably played BFBC2, but it's different from the oringinal BF series. So I basicly said you never played BF1 or 2.

Next, there was a certain reason why I did not use the 'Enter' key. The reason is that the post will be too long and you will not be able to read my amazing post.

Third, learn to Capitalize your 'I's. Thats how we know that you are a mature adult.

Next, it's not hard to destroy a wooden wall with a simple RPG-7. You dont need a tank to destroy something.

I said you hate tanks because you couldn't take them out so easily like in WaW.

I know there is quickscoping, I even said "Sure you can quickly zoom in with a sniper again, but wait, with a gun that is identicle to a PGS1, the terrible M14EBR, and the trigger spamming Barret .50 Cal." That means no bolt action rifle. Herp Derp.

Look up the engine for Cod. They've been using the same Quake 4 engine since Cod 4.

How can that trailer of 'Black Tuesday' blow all of BF3 trailers away? Please tell me.

Yo COD dck Sucking fraance, just because you need a overpowered weapon to kill somebody, doesn't allow you to talk sht about a series you have never played at all. You probably player BFBC2, which is different from the oringinal BF series, and hated it how when you played conquest or rush, you had to wait 10 seconds to spawn back. You aso probably hated it due to the fact you cover will be blown apart by skilled players. You also probably hate it due to the fact you need to run across a battle field to get a kill. You also probably hate it because there are no kill streaks. You also probably hate it because you cant combine and mix match classes. You also probably hate it because you are so used to old, WW2, slow moving tanks that are so easy to take down, but in bf, they are ctually fast like they are suppose to be and can run your **** over. You also probably hate it because how long it takes to kill somebody. You also probably hate it because you cant 'Quick Scope' in the game. You also probably hate it because yo have to be patient to kill somebody with sniper. You also probably hate it because on how slow you move. Until you give a efficiant reason on why this game will fail and MW3 will be better, your just going to be sht on by everybody else. And oh, go ahead and say that i cant play that game without a tank, because i know i can because i am a skilled player unlike you. And lets see, what have we seen from MW3? NOTHING! They just told us in words whats going to be in it. Well let me tell you, the stuff we heard is the same thing over and over again. Also, what makes you think that BF3 graphics looks like your playing it through a coffee maker? When i go and look at MW3, it looks like some sort of run down Quake 4 engine with a wii ram. And to break it to you, MW3 DOES NOT HAVE QUICKSCOPING! there are far more try hards in call of duty, you dont get tanks on every map, and at least you get vehicals in call of duty the tanks are over kill in bf2 the tanks are moderately decent they arnt alwayse 1 hit, and there multipurpose

how the **** does BF bring the fun away from FPS it encourages less camping it gives to in-game customization to take out those vehicles because you forgot to set a class. call of duty ruins FPS.also WaW had tanks ****, but you cant play that piece of **** game because of mods and the only good cod game, cod4, is also ruined by mods. but you can play all the battlefields because THERE IS NO MODS. Know why? because dice is the **** and **** rapes IW, Treyarch, Raven, and Sludgehammer

Nobody mods Battlefield because theres no point to modding it. The only thing maybe, would probably be to get max level, because you have to be a complete no life.

Guys everybody knows in the back of your minds that BF3 is gonna be better no camping, no try hards, no whiny 10 year olds, no shit graphics, no bitch ass mods(on multiplayer for co-op would be cool), no no-lifes that use the phrase ur mom evry 30 seconds. see BF3 has none of this poop. BF3 has mature people who like to play the game period.
